Dr. Hesham Gaber, vice president of Alexandria University for Education and Student Affairs stressed the importance of nurturing talent among young people, explaining that the university is keen to organize various kinds of activities to provide an opportunity for students, according to his talent and his hobbies, and noted that the university decided to re-theater activity at the level of Alexandria University.

Dr. Hesham Gaber, vice president of Alexandria University for Education and Student Affairs, referring to the end of the activity for the academic year 2015 / 2016, pointing out that in the Performing Arts Competition, Faculty of Engineering won first place equally with Faculty of Commerce, and Faculty of Fine Arts won the second place equally with the Faculty of Economic Studies and political Science, finally Faculty of Tourism won the third place. 

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Ashraf El-Shiehy accompanied by Matroh Governor Mr. Alaa Abu Zaid and AU Rector Dr. Roshdy Zahran visited the first phase constructions of AU buildings in Matroh branch with total cost of 48 Million EGP and implemented by the Armed Forces' Engineering Authority.

The Minister stressed the importance of this expansion to serve the education process and students through providing required facilities to produce graduates at the highest level.

Matroh Governor Mr. Abu Zaid stated that the governorate provides the support to overcome any obstacles that may hinder the work.

Dr. Zahran commended efforts that have been made by the Armed Forces' Engineering Authority to finish the first building in record time only two months. Dr. Mohamed Abaza the University Vice President for Matroh Branch spoke about branch history and thanked all persons who contributed to its establishment and development.

The visit was witnessed by Dr. Essam Kurdy the University Vice President for Community Service and Environment Development, Dr. Hesham Gaber the University Vice President for Education and Students Affairs and Eng. Ashraf Hamed the Director of Watania for Contracts and Supplies in addition to faculty members, students and community leaders in Matroh.

He also declared that the university decided to restore the activity of the theater team of the university.

Dr. Gaber said that the university has recently finished the artistic activity for the academic year 2015 - 2016 with announcing the results of the competitions of theatrical arts and choral where the chorus team Faculty of Specific Education won the first place then the Faculty of Commerce while Faculties of Engineering and Arts came in the third place together.

For single singing, the student Shorok Hesham from the Faculty of Commerce won the first place and the student Mostafa Mohamed Mostafa of Specific Education came second and the student Ahmad Magdy Faculty of Engineering in the third place.

In the competition of the theatrical arts, the Faculty of Engineering won the first place equally with the Faculty of Commerce while the Faculty of Fine Arts came in the second place with the Faculty of Economic Studies and Political Science and finally the Faculty of Tourism in the third place.

For the Acting prizes, the student Younis El Shaear from the Faculty of Engineering and Abdul Rahman Yussef from the Faculty of Tourism won the first round competition where Yousef Abdel Salam from the Faculty of Fine Arts won the second round. The student Aya Samir from the Faculty of Tourism with Yara El Hawary won the first round competition for girls where Rania Alaa and Hager Haikal won the second round.
