The Council of Education and Students Affairs headed by Dr. Hisham Gaber reviewed the second semester exams in university faculties. Dr. Gaber stressed on providing all facilities for the students to perform well in the exams in appropriate atmosphere. He called too provide equal opportunities for students and to take legal action with any fraud cases.

The university vice President called to activate the role of Academic Coordinator for foreign students in order to provide care, guidance and support for them and help them to adapt with university community and public life. He also praised the sports day and cultural day organized by the Faculty of Medicine for foreign students from all colleges with participation of 2000 students and attended by cultural attachés of and Consuls of some diplomatic missions.

Within the role of Alexandria University in building strategic partnership with African universities, a delegation from AU is visiting Gamal Abdel-Naser University in Guinea Conakry. The delegation is headed by Dr. Hesham Gaber, AU vice-president for Education and Students Affairs. The delegation included Dr. Ibrahim Rehab the university Advisor for African affairs, Dr. Ahmed Othman the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Dr. Abdel Aziz Qonswa the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.

The delegation was received by the Rector and deans of the Guinean universities in addition to the Guinean ambassador in Cairo.

The meeting discussed the available opportunities of cooperation between the two sides and the activation of the signed agreement in education and scientific research. The two sides agreed to give the priority to the fields of energy, water, health and environmental issues.

It is worth to mention that AU has two branches in South Sudan and Chad and has strong cooperation with many African countries like Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania and others. The university also provides 35 grants in graduate studies every year for students from Nile basin countries

AU President Dr. Essam El-Kurdi received the delegation of Alabama University - USA. The delegation consisted of professors in medicine and engineering who represented the latest results of scientific researches in early detection of colon cancer.

Dr. Mona Foad, the Professor at Faculty of Medicine in Alabama stated that the infection rate in Egypt is higher than the world average in the age under 40. She said that the protection is effective using inexpensive analysis through the current mutual researches between Alexandria University and Alabama University.

Dr. Foad Helmy Foad, the Professor of Civil Engineering in Alabama stated that AU will organize a workshop in collaboration with the National scientific Foundation in USA. The workshop will discuss the Science of Smart Cities and how to be applied in Egypt. The workshop will be held in the Four Season Hotel from 8 to 11 May 2017

Dr. Hesham Gaber, AU vice-president for Education and Students Affairs has met the President of Gamal Abdel-Naser University in Guinea in presence of the Guinean ambassador in Cairo Sorbia Kamarah. The meeting came within the visit AlexandriaUniversity delegation to the Guinean university.

The meeting agenda covered the Guinean side requirements in fields of education, training, scientific research, students exchange and information technology.

The sides discussed the cooperation between Medicine faculties to qualify teaching staff through training courses to be held via webinars using the project of Pan-Africa satellites. Also a discussion took place on accepting students in the French program in AU Faculty of Medicine and providing training and study grants for graduate level in clinical specializations.

In the engineering field, AU delegation consisted of Dr. Ibrahim Rehab the university Advisor for African affairs, Dr. Ahmed Othman the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Dr. Abdel Aziz Qonswa the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering reviewed cooperation chances between faculties of Engineering in both universities in various specializations. They also presented the vision of developing curriculum of Master's degree in the Guinean university in Medical Engineering, Communication, Energy and Automatic control fields.

Both sides discussed the request of the Guinean university to provide Master's and PhD grants in AlexandriaUniversity and cooperation in graduation projects.

This program provides grant opportunities for university graduates master's and doctoral degree candidates, and young professionals and artists to study and conduct research in the United States.

Master's degree grants: maximum of two years for persons wishing to pursue postgraduate degrees in U.S. Applicants in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) Agriculture and Economics are encouraged to apply.

Non-degree grants: Six to nine months for artists who wish to conduct field reach to attend master classes with professionals in the U.S.
