Alexandria University President Dr. Essam El-Kurdi emphasized on the need to work with the e-book in all the faculties of the theoretical complex starting from the second semester. He also called to spread the experiment of the faculty of commerce in the development of the digital university book. Prof. Dr. Osama El Toukhi the Assistant Teacher in the Faculty of Commerce presented the experiment which allows the student to browse the scientific materials via the web site. Dr. Osama said that there are studios under preparation to record the scientific books of the Faculty of Commerce and the preparation of interactive questions for students and training courses on the website.

Alexandria University Council headed by Dr. Essam El-Kurdi agreed to launch of the scientific blog of university faculties and institutes to store researches and studies, either published in scientific conferences or to promote the faculty members.

The Council agreed to update the list of ISI web knowledge with the new issue (SCIE AWD SSCI ISI 2016). The new issue contains 11487 magazines distributed on 234 allocated to start on the first of January 2018.

 

Alexandria University held symposium on combating violence against woman headed by Dr. Essam El kurdy, the President of AU. The symposium was held in cooperation with the National Council of Woman in Alexandria under auspices of the branch reporter Prof. Dr. Magda Al Shazly. The event was held under title "Social consciousness to protect woman against violence". This came in the frame of the 16 days for combating violence against woman all over the world.

Dr. El Kurdy emphasized that Alexandria University is prideful by its role to raise the value of the woman and AU is the first governmental university headed by a woman. He added that the females are more than male students in the university and the woman is half of society, so that all institutions and civil society must combat violence against woman.  

 

Dr. Essam El-Kurdy, President of Alexandria University received Mr. Antony Koon the Ambassador of South Sudan and the culture attaché. The visit came in the frame of university plan to overcome obstacles that face the foreign students in the university.

Dr. El-Kurdy emphasized the university care to connect with the African students during their studying and after graduation. He added that AU considers foreign students as ambassadors of their countries and the university provides all information about its different faculties via the university website to facilitate registration and graduation procedures for the foreigner. 

 

Prof. Dr. Hisham Gaber, Alexandria University Vice President for Education and Students Affairs has recently inaugurated the Study in Japan Fair 2017 hosted by AU for the first time in collaboration with kyushu University of Japan and the Japanese embassy in Cairo.16 Japanese universities participated gin the event in addition to the Egyptian Japan University of Science and Technology, Faculty  of Science, Faculty of Physical Education, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Commerce, the Institute of Higher Studies and Research and the Faculty of Education.

The fair included a series of lectures about the participating universities as well as available programs and scholarships opportunities to study in Japan. The second part of the fair presented publications of the participating universities and programs at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The fair was held under auspices of Dr. Essam El-Kurdy, President of the Alexandria University and under supervision of Dr. Hisham Gaber AU Vice-President and Dr. Ghada Moussa, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts.
